Program specialties:
♦ Applicants should be non-PRC and non-ROC citizens, with high school diploma and have average Chinese language ability. (Better submit Chinese proficiency test certificate when applying; or at least able to write short articles.)
♦ It is a 4-year bachelor degree program; required courses are delivered in Chinese.
♦ International students graduate with identical diploma as Taiwanese students.
♦ For required courses, int’l students are taught separately; for elective courses, they are with native students.
♦ After graduation, international students can choose to: 1) teaching Chinese in worldwide countries; 2) working in business sectors using Chinese; or 3) continuing academic research in Chinese related fields. All are with promising futures in a world requires talents with Chinese language ability.
♦ ROC Ministry of Education (Taiwan Scholarship), and the university provide several scholarships for foreign students, supporting them during the four-year bachelor study period.

本班特色:
1.申請者須為「非中國籍non-PRC、非中華民國籍non-ROC」、高中畢業、且具基礎中文能力(可寫短篇文章,能檢附中文檢定證書更佳),僑生須通過海外聯招此得入學本系,不能申請本班。
2.本課程是四年期的學士學位課程,採小班教學,必修課全程中文教學。
3.必修課國際學生專班上課,選修課與臺灣本地生一起上課。
4.國際學生畢業後取得與臺灣本地生一樣的畢業證書。
5.畢業後學生可:1) 回母國教學華語;2) 繼續深造,在學術研究領域有專業發展,或從事教學工作;3)於需要運用中文的公司擔任職務,各方面均可獲得良好的發展。
6.入學前及錄取後,對於財務困難但有志來臺升學的學生,臺灣的教育部(臺灣獎學金)與本校均提供數項獎學金可申請,每月2,500~25,000新臺幣不等,可大為減低學生的經濟負擔。
2010 Huayu (Mandarin) Enrichment Scholarship is now open for application!!!
The Ministry of Education Huayu (Mandarin) Enrichment Scholarship, funded by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (TAIWAN), aims to give scholarship recipients a better command of the Mandarin language, and hence a greater understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture. Any be of 18 years of age or older, a high school graduate or above, have an excellent academic performance in his/her most recent formal educational study experience and be of good moral character is eligible to apply.
Within the annual award period from every September to the following August, recipients have 4 options for the duration of their scholarship, with these being 12 months, 9 months, 6 months and 3 months. 3-month scholarship is a very popular option for students, because they can take advantage of the summer holiday from December to the following February, to study Mandarin through the scholarship, and undertake a marvellous cultural tour in Taiwan.
A monthly stipend of NT$25,000 is provided to each recipient. Recipients have a responsibility to pay for their international airfares, tuition fees, lodging/accommodation fees, food, health insurance and other expenses.
Application period
In principle, the yearly application period is from February 1 through March 31. Hower, actual application period will be in accordance with the general regulations of the local Taiwan Representive Offices.

教育部華語文獎學金即將開放申請!
教育部(以下簡稱本部)為提供外國(不含大陸、香港及澳門地區)學生與人民來臺學習華語及認識臺灣文化機會,藉此增進我國與世界各國之交流、瞭解及友誼。
獎學金待遇及核發方式:
本部提供受獎人每人每月獎學金新臺幣二萬五千元,受獎人應選擇前往本部立案之大學校院附設華語文教學機構(以下簡稱華語中心)研習華語文。受獎人就讀之華語中心應於每月十日前,依受獎人出缺席情形及學業成績等按月核發本獎學金。
申請人應同時符合下列條件:
(一)年滿十八歲,具高級中等學校以上畢業學歷,學業成績優良,品行端正。
(二)未具中華民國國籍。
(三)未具中華民國僑生身分。
(四)未曾在臺修讀學位課程,或現未在臺註冊入學研習華語文者。
(五)本計畫受獎期間非為我各大學校院依據與外國學校簽訂學術合作協議所招收之交換學生。
(六)未曾受領本獎學金或臺灣獎學金。
(七)未同時受領我政府機關(構)或學校所設置之獎補助金。
申請期間
以每年二月一日至三月三十一日受理申請為原則,實際申請期間依當地駐外館處公告簡章為主。

Las noches de otoño son más placenteras y para los chinos, la luna luce más grande y redonda en esta época del año. Por esa razón, el Festival de Medio Otoño es una celebración primordialmente relacionada con la luna.
Como en todas las culturas antiguas, los chinos daban una connotación masculina al Sol, y una femenina a la Luna. En Occidente, el Sol es el astro rey, y obviamente, la Luna es la reina del firmamento.
En China, la luna ha sido uno de los temas predilectos de los poetas, literatos y pintores a través de los años. En torno a ella, se han tejido muchos romances y leyendas que resaltan el embrujo que siempre ha ejercido sobre la humanidad.
Básicamente cuenta la historia de Chang’e, una bella joven que vivía en el Palacio del Emperador de Jade(emperador del cielo), y Hou Yi, un inmortal que trabajaba en el mencionado palacio. Sin embargo, un día Hou Yi se mostró celoso del resto de los inmortales y profanó mentiras sobre ellos, por lo que el Emperador de Jade echó tanto a Chang’e y a Hou Yi del cielo.
Hou Yi se convirtió en un famoso arquero. En esta época, existían 10 soles que giraban alrededor de la tierra - uno cada diez días. Y un día, los diez soles giraron a la vez, lo que provocó que la Tierra empezara a arder. El Emperador Yao, el emperador de la tierra, mandó a Hou Yi que disparase a todos los soles excepto uno. Realizada esta tarea, el emperador le regaló una pastilla que garantiza la vida eterna, pero le dijo: “No te la trages, sino que prepárate con un orador y haz ayudo durante un año”. El arquero al volver a su casa, escondió la pastilla en una viga. Más tarde, mientras este meditaba para curar su espíritu fue llamado otra vez por el emperador. Chang’e divisó una haz de luz entre las vigas, y así descubrió la apreciada pastilla, y así se la tragó. Inmediatamente, descubrió que podía volar. Cuando Hou Yi volvió a casa, se dio cuenta de lo que había pasado, mostró su preocupación, y Chang’e salió por la ventana y se dirigió al cielo.
Hou Yi se había agarrado a ella, pero después de cruzar medio cielo, se cayó a causa del viento, mientras que Chang’e llegó hasta la Luna, y sin respiración, estornudó y expulsó parte de la pastilla. Chang’e le pidió a la “Coneja de la Luna” o “Conejo de Jade” que ya estaba asentada (hay otra historia que explica porqué hay un conejo en la luna, pero tendrá que ser contada otro día) que le hiciera una pastilla a partir del trozo que le había quedado, para así poder volver a la Tierra con su marido.
Y aún a día de hoy, la coneja sigue probando con diferentes hierbas .Por parte de Hou Yi, construyó él mismo un palacio con la parte solar de Yan (el principio masculino), y Chang’e como Yan (principio femenino). Así pues, una vez por año, el día quince del octavo mes lunar puede visitar a su esposa. Y es por ello, por lo que la luna se muestra tan magistral y hermosa.
Por lo general, la cena de esa noche debe ser al aire libre. Se suele hacer una parrillada, acompañada por abundantes pasteles de luna y pomelos. El pomelo se produce para esta época del año y por su forma redonda, tiene una asociación romántica con la luna.
